I’m so excited to be joining Ascension Macomb Oakland to train for my dream job! In my free time I enjoy going on walks with my dog, trying new recipes, watching TV/movies, and reading books. We are proud to have received ACGME Continuing Accreditation in early 2021. My interest continued to grow as I worked with amazing OBGYNs in a variety of capacities. My interest in OBGYN started in my first year of medical school as I learned about reproductive health and started watching The Mindy Project. I was able to plan science projects for all grades and even planned a field trip to my medical school before I was even accepted! I attended ATSU-SOMA and was able to live in Tucson, AZ for my clinical years. After graduating I started working as an elementary school teacher and science curriculum coordinator. After going through middle school and high school in Phoenix, AZ I decided to attend Arizona State University majoring in Biochemistry and Psychology. Hello! I’m Trisha! Though I was born in Pennsylvania, for the last 17 years I’ve lived in Arizona. In my spare time I love watching sports (if live even better), spend time with my wife and our cute husky! When the weather allows it I enjoy fishing but most importantly, breweries! Not to mention that catching little humans is awesome. ![]() So, OBGYN allows me to be right beside the patient in the best and worst moments of their lives, which I believe is a true privilege. The following day, I had to tell a patient that after several years of trying to conceive, she was finally pregnant. However, on my second day of my OB rotation, I had to inform a patient who only spoke Spanish that she had lost a baby. To be honest, OB/GYN was at the very bottom of my list before starting my rotations. Then, I spent a year doing research in HIV back at UAB followed by med school at LMU-DCOM. I got my biology degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham followed by my masters in biomedical sciences at Lincoln Memorial University. I was born and raised in Ecuador and also lived in Panama for a few years before coming to the USA for college and medical school.
